OUR CONCEPT

Reinterpreting the traditional Lebanese Abaya through modern aesthetics, craftsmanship, and cultural identity. “Honoring heritage, inspiring creativity.”

THE INITIATIVE

Makassed is pleased to announce the Abaya Design Competition 2025. Reinterpreting the traditional Lebanese Abaya through modern aesthetics.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to graduate fashion design students currently enrolled. Each university may nominate up to 15 students. Each participant may submit one original design.

SUBMISSION

Deadline : December 31 , 2025. Submission must include sketches(front/back),fabric samples, and a concept description via the official form.

Awards & Recognition

Celebrating excellence in creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural interpretations

First Prize

For the most outstanding overall design, showcasing excellence in creativity, craftsmanship and cultural interpretation.

Second Prize

Recognizes exceptional artistry and strong technical execution in design and construction.

Third Prize

Awarded for commendable innovation and design quality among the finalists.

Audience Award

Selected by live audience vote during the Fashion Show.

Innovation Award

Honors the most forward-thinking reinterpretation of the traditional Abaya.

Culture & Finishing Awards

Celebrates designs that best reflect Lebanese heritage and showcase exceptional attention to detail.
